KFOR HELPS CHILDREN AFFECTED BY AUTISM

PRISTINA - Soldiers of KFOR Regional Command East donated special equipment to “Autizmi”, a non-governmental organization supporting children affected by autism of all communities in Kosovo, regardless of race, religion, gender or nationality. The equipment will allow appropriate treatment, including the improvement of motor skills, skill-related fitness, social functioning and muscular strength and endurance.

KFOR’s project main aim is to help “Autizmi” to cope with the increasing number of children treated, while promoting their inclusion and social integration.

"Autizmi" was established on the initiative of a large number of parents of children affected by autism in November 2011 in Pristina, and is supported by the Municipality. The assistance project was funded by NATO and implemented by KFOR Civil-Military Cooperation Team together with the Italian Liaison and Monitoring Team operating in Pristina.
