ITALIAN SOLDIERS SUPPORT FAMILY HEALTH CENTRES

PRISTINA - Family health centres located Kacanik and Elez Han received from KFOR’s Italian military contingent several medical equipment, including digital electrocardiographs, defibrillators, oxygen machines.

The initiative was funded by the Italian Ministry of Defence with the aim of increasing the capabilities of two health centres which are providing care to the 45,000 people living in two municipalities. Last week Italian soldiers of KFOR rehabilitated Prizren hospital’s medical oxygen plant.

KFOR and its troop contributing nations are implementing a number of assistance projects in the field of health, especially in support to the local response to Covid19, to the benefit of all communities in Kosovo.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic the NATO-led mission has provided personal protective equipment to the health institutions in Kosovo, whilst facilitating the delivery of aid by allied and partner nations, including Germany, Italy, Poland, Turkey and Austria.
