ITALIAN SOLDIERS IMPLEMENTED DISTANCE LEARNING PROJECT FOR SCHOOLS

PRISTINA - Italian Soldiers donated 34 laptop computers to the Ministry of Education, as a contribution to the development of distance learning in Kosovo.

Thanks to the donation funded by the Italian Defence teachers will be able to record video-lessons and provide online teaching, in order to contain the spread of Covid-19.

The project was implemented by the Italian Army Civil-Military Cooperation Team together with the Artillerymen of the 5th Regiment commanded by Colonel Gianluca Figus, based in Pec/Peja.

On the occasion of the delivery, Minister of Education of Sciences Ramë Likaj thanked the Italian Defense for sustaining the learning process amidst Covid-19, and stated: “Italy has been by our side in every situation, so we are grateful for your on-going support”.

Colonel Figus highlighted that in the last months Italian Soldiers of KFOR Regional Command West have impartially delivered assistance in an impartial way to all communities in Western Kosovo, with special focus on health and education, through the donation of Personal Protection Equipment and the sanitization of education facilities. The ceremony was attended also by Major General Michele Risi, the Commander of KFOR, who stressed the role played by NATO and KFOR in the facilitation of bilateral assistance projects by the Alliance’s member and partner countries, in support of the local response the pandemic.
