KTRBN Tactics for Crowd and Riot Control
Pristina- Control and disperse crowds, quell riots and thwart any action that can affect the Safe and
Secure Environment and Freedom of Movement through well-equipped and well-trained
crowd control teams. This is one of the capabilities of KFOR Tactical Reserve Battalion
(KTRBN) soldiers that must be prepared to use proven team tactics for crowd and riot
control in order to manage demonstrations and unrest.
These tactics have been tested and proven in the latest training done in Camp Vrelo and
marked the exchange of competencies between the new rotation of KTRBN and the old
one. Procedures have been standardised and the newcomers from Hungary reached Full
Operational Capability in order to be able to substitute their colleagues.
These exercises are part of the continuous work done by KFOR in training for readiness,
maintaining capabilities and rapid reactions in order to support the mandate. KFOR
continues to contribute to the development of a stable and peaceful Kosovo and is
performing its mission to ensure a better future for all people in Kosovo.
