A NEW KFOR COMMANDER

Pristina – Major General Michele Risi is the new Commander of the NATO-led Kosovo Force. He took over command from Major General Lorenzo D’Addario, at the presence of Admiral James G. Foggo III, Commander of Joint Force Command Naples, Mr. Thaci, and the Italian Minister and Chief of Defence.

During his speech Major General D’Addario highlighted that during his mandate “As a military organisation we have continued to ensure that KFOR is recognised as a credible, impartial and capable Force that contributed to enable political space for a stable solution”.

Admiral Foggo praised General D’Addario for he “has brilliantly led more than 3,500 troops representing 28 nations, combining tactical prowess with and an astute diplomatic approach”.

In his first statement, Major General Risi announced his motto – “Enduring Stability”- and the commitment to support dialogue and cooperation “to contribute to progress and stability in the Western Balkans, a region of long-standing strategic importance for the entire Euro-Atlantic Region”.
