Silver Sabre 2018 brings together security forces for emergency response


Pristina - Exercise Silver Sabre 2018, as one of the most important training activities conducted and led by KFOR, will be held throughout 16th to 27th of April in Camp Film City, Camp Pomozatin and Slatina Military Airport.

This exercise brings together, in a coordinated and synergetic way, different players, European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), Kosovo Security Council (KSC), Kosovo Police (KP), Kosovo Security Forces (KSF) and Kosovo Emergency Management Agency (EMA).

Under the guidance of KFOR Deputy Commander, Brigadier General János CSOMBÓK, all the actors involved aim to improve mutual understanding regarding their roles, capabilities and capacities to emergency response.

Silver Saber 2018 will be conducted in two phases. From 16 to 19 April will take place the Command Post Exercise in Camp Film City, whereas the Field Exercise Track will be held from 23 to 27 April at Camp Pomozatin and Slatina Military Airport.

The overall aim of the exercise Silver Sabre 2018 is to train the Commanders and staff of KFOR, EULEX and Kosovo Security Organizations in handling operations in emergency disaster relief and civil disturbance scenario. It will be the opportunity to test the 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd responder concept and to establish a common understanding on tactics, techniques and procedures at the unit level, with particular attention to Crowd and Riot control (CRC) training and firefighting.
