KTM marked Change of Command ceremony


Pristina – KFOR Commander, Major General Giovanni FUNGO, presided the KFOR Tactical Manoeuvre Battalion (KTM) Change of Command ceremony at Camp Slim Lines, on Friday, April 28th . On this occasion, outgoing Commander, Lieutenant Colonel António CARDOSO (Portuguese Army), handed over the command of KTM to Lieutenant Colonel Attila BUDAI (Hungarian Army).

Addressing the troops, General FUNGO expressed his appreciation for the outstanding performances of both Hungarian and Portuguese contingents belonging to the KTM. Furthermore, COMKFOR congratulated the Portuguese soldiers whose withdrawal marked the end of the Portuguese Armed Forces contribution to the KTM. Moreover, COMKFOR praised both Hungary and Portugal for sending their "best youth” to serve in this region.

The ceremony was attended by Major General János HUSZÁR, Commander of the Hungarian Joint Force Command, and Major General José Manuel CARDOSO LAURENCO, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Portuguese Joint Operations Command that awarded COMKFOR with the Saint George’s Cross 1st Class.
