KFOR supported a mass casualties exercise at Pristina Airport


SLATINA – On Tuesday, May 16th , KFOR took part in a joint exercise in coordination with local authorities to test the emergency procedure to be applied in case of incident in vicinity of Pristina International Airport.

During the exercise, an aircraft with about 90 people on board was simulated to have veered off the runway. Together with the LIMAK Company, the Kosovo Police and the Kosovo Security Force, KFOR deployed its ground and air medical assets.

The exercise was aimed to verifying the force readiness and the interoperability between KFOR and local agencies that have primary responsibility. Indeed, in accordance with the local agencies, KFOR is able to support any intervention in case of incident either in vicinity of the Pristina International Airport or in Kosovo.
