KFOR in support of peaceful Elections

PRISTINA – During the Elections Day, on 11th June, KFOR developed a specific plan in accordance with the security assessment in order to operate firmly, carefully and impartially, as 3rd responder after KP and EULEX, in accordance with its current mandate, deriving from UNSCR 1244.

As per OSCE request, KFOR also provided security to the OSCE personnel in the Serb populated areas.

Safe and Secure Environment and Freedom of Movement were ensured by KFOR by deploying Kosovo wide more than 1200 soldiers and 250 vehicles, including 4 helicopters with medical evacuation capability, of all subordinate units as part of its commitment to support the people of Kosovo to shape their own future through the electoral democratic process.
