JRD-C organized 2nd collective Meeting with Mayors

PRISTINA. – KFOR Joint Regional Detachment Centre (JRD-C) organized the 2nd Collective Meeting with Mayors from JRD-C Area of Responsibility (AoR).

The aim of this event was to provide a forum for Mayors that facilitated engagement in constructive dialogue regarding security, political, economic, social and infrastructure issues. This dialogue is essential to ensure continued meaningful cooperation between municipalities and KFOR in order to enhance Kosovo proficiency.

During the meeting the Mayors discussed topics such as the returnee situation, reintegration program and internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in conjunction with the debate on inter- ethnic issues. Deputy COMKFOR, Brigadier General Christian Reiner, on behalf of COMKFOR, Major General Giovanni Fungo, greeted the Mayors expressing his gratitude for their cooperation. "You are like Commanders on the field,” he stated, recalling KFOR’s motto "Trust and Commitment" – trust in each other and be committed in ensuring together a safe and secure environment.

In his closing remarks, DCOM thanked JRD-C Commander for organising this important event and the mayors for their continuous support and enthusiasm for participating in constructive dialog. DCOM assured all the Mayors that KFOR will continue to support and assist them in leadership roles within their communities.
