International Day of Mine Awareness marked

PRISTINA, Kosovo – KFOR marked the International Day of Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action, together with the international community. In Kosovo, this day represents the start of the Humanitarian Demining season.

The Mine Action Centre from Kosovo Security Force, with KFOR Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) assets in support, marked the event with a disposal activity.

KFOR EOD, Kosovo Police Improvised Explosive Device Disposal (IEDD), KSF EOD, Halo Trust and Norwegian People's Aid conducted a joint demo operation in Rahovec/Orahovac to dispose 35 types of UXOs found in Kosovo.
