Austrian Secretary General for Foreign Affairs visits KFOR HQ

Pristina - KFOR Commander, Major General Giovanni FUNGO welcomed H.E. Ambassador Michael LINHART, Austrian Secretary General at the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, at Camp "Film City” NATO KFOR Headquarters in Pristina.

General FUNGO and Dr. LINHART discussed the overall situation in Kosovo and the recent developments in the western Balkans. The meeting was also an opportunity for KFOR Commander to praise the effectiveness of Austrian contribution in ensuring a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement in Kosovo, according to UNSC Resolution 1244.

Currently, Austria contributes with approximately 500 soldiers who are deployed Kosovo wide in the Multinational Battle Group West, Joint Regional Detachment – South, Joint Logistic Support Group, International Military Police and as members of KFOR HQ Staff.
