Archbishop MARCIANÒ visit to KFOR

 
PRISTINA- KFOR Commander, Major General Giovanni FUNGO, welcomed H.E. Santo MARCIANÒ, Archbishop Chief of the Roman Catholic Church for Military Service at KFOR HQ.

During their meeting, COMKFOR and the Military Ordinary talked about the role of KFOR in supporting the development of Kosovo's cultural and religious heritage without distinction of credo. MG FUNGO, moreover, took the opportunity to underline the importance of military chaplain’s presence within the soldiers.

In the course of his stay, His Excellency met the Italian personnel of Camp Film City and, in the following days, he visited the soldiers deployed in Multinational Battle Group West (MNBG-W) in Pec/Pejë and the Carabinieri of the Multinational Specialised Unit (MSU) in Prishtine/Pristina.

On Tuesday, September 5th, the Military Ordinary participated in the Solemn Mass for the Dedication of the Sanctuary of Saint Teresa of Calcutta officiated by the special envoy of the Holy See, His Excellency Cardinal Ernest Simoni TROSHANI.

Archbishop MARCIANÒ concluded his trip on Wednesday, September 6th. He expressed his appreciation for the important work and achievements of KFOR in all these years.
