VISIT OF FINNISH CHIEF OF STAFF OF THE ARMY COMMAND


PRISTINA, Kosovo. Today Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, KFOR Commander, received Major General Jorma Heikki Tapio Ala-Sankila, Chief of Staff of the Finnish Army Command at the KFOR Headquarters, in Camp "Film City”.

During the meeting, the high ranking Officers discussed the overall security situation in Kosovo and the considerable contribution provided by the Finnish service members to KFOR in maintaining a stable level of security throughout Kosovo.

General Miglietta remarked that KFOR’s mission remains unchanged and any change to KFOR’s force posture will be based on careful analysis of the conditions on the ground.

Currently, Finnish troops in Kosovo are deployed within the HQ of Joint Regional Detachment – Centre, where they also provide one of the Liaison and Monitoring Teams (K9) as well as a number of Staff Officers within KFOR HQ. General Miglietta concluded his address thanking the Finnish contingent for the extremely important contribution that they continue to make to KFOR.
