U.S. VICE PRESIDENT VISITS KFOR

PRISTINA, Kosovo. Today, the United States Vice President Joe Biden, during his official visit to Kosovo, attended an emotional ceremony to name a road in Gjilan/Gnjilane dedicated in memory of his son, Beau, who died in 2015 after a prolonged illness. The monument erected in memory of Beau Biden, who served as an interim legal adviser on post-war Kosovo in 2001, was placed near the U.S. military base, Camp "Bondsteel”, the main base for U.S. troops serving with NATO forces, in Kosovo.

The Vice President was welcomed at the U.S. base by KFOR Commander, Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta; afterwards he expressed both his pride and deep appreciation for the outstanding commitment and professionalism of U.S. and all other KFOR soldiers, who remain a tremendous asset in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all the people of Kosovo.

Vice President Biden, during his visit in Kosovo, met also with high-ranking Officials of the Institutions in Kosovo.
