PRISTINA, Kosovo. KFOR Commander, Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta welcomed this morning the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee, Senator Joni Kay Ernst, at Camp "Film City” NATO KFOR HQ in Pristina.
They discussed the overall security situation in Kosovo and the KFOR’s role in ensuring a safe and secure environment in the region.
The visit was also the occasion to have a business breakfast at the KFOR dining facility together with US KFOR staff. The meeting was also attended by the US Ambassador in Kosovo, Greg Delawie, Iowa Adjutant General, Major General Orr, USAREUR Deputy Commanding Officer for National Guard Affairs, Major General Gronski and by the newly appointed KFOR Chief of Staff Brigadier General Anslow.
General Miglietta used this opportunity to express appreciation for the important role, the professionalism and the outstanding contribution of US service members in KFOR, including the elements of the National Guard.
The US is the biggest contingent in KFOR and is also the lead Nation of Multinational Battle Group East.
