STUDENTS FROM EMA INSTITUTE VISIT CAMP VILLAGGIO ITALIA

PEC, Kosovo. Students of the European Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Democratization (EMA) visited Multinational Battle Group West (MNBG-W) Headquarters at Camp "Villaggio Italia” on 26 Jan 16.

The 65 students who are participating in a post-graduate course, had the opportunity to stay one day in a military base and to share with the KFOR (Kosovo Force) troops several topics. They were welcomed by the MNBG-W Chief of Staff (COS), Lieutenant Colonel Gregor SCHEUCHER who after the initial greetings introduced the activity of the MNBG-W explaining the progress of Kosovo and the mission of KFOR since 1999.

The visit was followed by a short briefing held by the MNBG-W key staff officers who provided an overview on KFOR links and cooperation with the International Organizations such as OSCE, UNMIK and EULEX throughout Kosovo. One of the key-points was the commitment to enhancing a strong cooperation with the civil actors in the Civil and Military Cooperation (CIMIC) sector. The second part of the briefing was oriented to highlight the development of a stable, democratic, multi-ethnic and peaceful Kosovo and the commitment of NATO troops to maintain a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all residents and communities in Kosovo.

The visit concluded at the Dining Facility where visitors and the teachers had the opportunity to have an Italian dinner and talking with KFOR soldiers.
