KOSOVO: THE ITALIAN CONTINGENT SUPPORT

Peje/Pec, December 2nd , 2016 -In recent days, the Italian contingent of Multinational Battle Group West (MNBG-W), currently based on 62nd Infantry Regiment "SICILIA" in Catania, carried out two projects in favour of the local population in western Kosovo.

In particular, the MNBG-W and the Municipality of Gjakova/Dakovica have jointly contributed to construction of a multipurpose sports field in favour of the students of "Emin Duraku” school. Thanks to the project, over 700 students will enjoy periods of physical education and practice different sports outdoor.

Another donation was made in favour of "Radio Peja", one of the local radio stations located in the Peje/Pec and consisted in computer equipment and technical devices that will allow to improve its communication capabilities in favour of the local population. This radio is very important because it broadcasts music, news, interviews and entertainment programs in various languages to direct listeners Serbs, Albanians and also to those of Roman- Ashkali- Egyptian ethnicity (RAE).

These projects, carried out by the Italian contingent in close cooperation with local Institutions, witness the Kfor's commitment, fundamental to improve the trust with the peoples of Kosovo.
