QUICK RESPONSE EXERCISE 2016 - BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA - 04 OCTOBER 2016 – KTM
The KTM Battalion of KFOR having firmly established themselves at Camp Manjaca
near Banja Luka in BiH, this morning commenced a number of exercise serials
based on the Exercise scenario that were designed to test both their Command and
Control functions and also their response and reaction times to dynamic incidents as
and when they developed.
This was intended to portray in as realistic a manner as
possible how a reserve unit acting in such a capacity could react swiftly and
effectively. Many of the exercise serials took place simultaneously in real time,
which imposed an additional challenge to the Tactical Operations Centre (TOC) of
the KTM Battalion as to how they would and could most effectively deploy their
resources to unforeseen incidents as they evolved and developed.
included manning a series of Checkpoints (CPs) in a perimeter around the camp,
securing the camp itself and also the exfiltration and evacuation of a number of
civilians from a dangerous and hostile environment. Concurrently, during the
afternoon, preparations were put in place for the Distinguished Visitors day DVD)
that will take place on the 05 th October, where a number of visiting dignitaries will be
given the opportunity to view both EUFOR troops and also soldiers of the KFOR
KTM Battalion being rigorously put through their paces as part of the exercise finale.
