KFOR JOINT LOGISTIC SUPPORT GROUP CHANGE OF COMMAND

PRISTINA, Kosovo. KFOR Commander, Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, presided over the change of command ceremony today, to mark the handover within KFOR Joint Logistic Support Group (JLSG) in Camp Film City, in Pristina.

After six months of serving as the commander of the JLSG and the 33rd Austrian Contingent, Colonel Rudolf Zauner relinquished command and responsibility to Colonel Arnold Staudacher who now commands the JLSG and the 34th Austrian Contingent. Currently, there are around 500 Austrian service members deployed with KFOR.

In his speech, Major General Miglietta commended the soldiers of JLSG for their extensive list of accomplishments achieved during Colonel Zauner’s leadership.

During this period JLSG conducted several infrastructural projects in KFOR Camps, developed the Rotary Wing Deployed Operational Base at Slatina Airport, carried out driver training, personnel transportation, supply and fuel delivery and several Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) operational activities.

Part of KFOR JLSG responsibilities includes freedom of movement operations throughout Kosovo. Recently, JLSG personnel dealt with a dangerous overhanging rock at a tunnel entrance in the municipality of Zubin Potok, in northern Kosovo. These projects, as well as the civilian truck recovery in Leposavic, in March, represent an excellent example of a multinational effort to resolve a real life issue for the Institutions of Kosovo.

Joint Logistic Support Group is a KFOR logistic unit comprised of personnel from 16 different nations tasked with providing logistic support to all KFOR units throughout Kosovo.

The ceremony was attended by the Head of Operations (J3) of the Austrian Armed Forces Joint Headquarters, Brigadier General Gunter Ruderstaller.
