KFOR HIGH LEVEL TALKS WITH SERBIAN ARMED FORCES

PRISTINA, Kosovo. Today, Kosovo Force Commander, Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, flew to Serbia where he met with the Chief of Staff of Serbian Armed Forces (SAF). The farewell visit was on the occasion of the forthcoming KFOR change of command ceremony, September 1.

Both Generals discussed the current and future security challenges and the positive effect of KFOR’s activities, especially in Northern Kosovo. They agreed that cooperation and mutual activities between KFOR and SAF, in particular along the Administrative Boundary Line, contribute to maintaining a peaceful and positive atmosphere.

General Diković thanked General Miglietta for the deep commitment in maintaining peace in the region. "Many results have been achieved during your mandate”, said General Diković, "this was possible thanks to the high professionalism and impartiality demonstrated by KFOR soldiers and the excellent cooperation strengthened between the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR”.

In the last thirteen months, under the General Miglietta’s command, KFOR has focused on promoting activities for the implementation of the stabilization process in Kosovo, according to the NATO mandate. As the KFOR motto mentions, "Shaping the Change”, KFOR turned "challenges” into opportunities for the development of a safe and secure environment, contributing to support the common goal of consolidated peace and stability through the region.
