KFOR DEPUTY COMMANDER TRANSFER OF AUTHORITY


PRISTINA, Kosovo. The KFOR Deputy Commander Transfer of Authority ceremony took place today in Camp Film City, KFOR Headquarters in Pristina. After a one-year tour, Brigadier General Fenec Korom (Hungarian) handed over responsibility to Brigadier General Christian Riener (Austrian).
 
KFOR Commander, Major General Giovanni Fungo presided the event.
 
COMKFOR highlighted the outstanding performance of this Hungarian Senior Officer, his professional qualities and his complete commitment to KFOR.
 
Above all, he underlined: "It was an outstanding period. I had only the opportunity to serve with you for 40 days, but I was very impressed with what I saw in this very short period” and addressing the soldiers, he added: "this ceremony is done to show you also the impressive achievements of your commanders and to give you an example how military life, military activities have to be performed, therefore thank you very much Ferenc and all the best to Christian”.
 
Brigadier General Korom was awarded with the NATO "non-article 5” peace-keeping medal by COM KFOR and with the Portuguese Service medal of Merit by Col. Jose Benros, ACOS JEC.
