KFOR COMMANDER MEETS MAYOR OF DECANI

DECANI, Kosovo. Today KFOR Commander, Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, visited the Decani Municipality where he met with the Mayor Mr. Rasim Selmanaj.

During the meeting they discussed the current security situation in Kosovo with a specific focus on the western part of the region. Major General Miglietta congratulated Mr. Selmanaj for the commitment to keep the relations between the Municipality and the Monastery at their best.

The Mayor expressed to KFOR Commander his appreciation and gratitude for the effective posture of KFOR in maintaining a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all the people of Kosovo. In particular, Mr. Selmanaj thanked Major General Miglietta for KFOR’s support to facilitate the security and viability around the Decani Municipality and the Monastery of Visoki.

During the meeting General Miglietta said that "KFOR is committed to cooperate with the local authorities and the International actors in order to improve security”.

At the end of the meeting Gen Miglietta met the Mayor together with Mr. Ramush Haradinaj, leader of AAK party. General Miglietta periodically meets Kosovo stakeholders as part of KFOR’s comprehensive approach to the mission.
