KFOR COMMANDER MEETS AMBASSADOR OF CROATIA TO KOSOVO


PRISTINA, Kosovo. This morning Kosovo Force Commander, Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, met with the Ambassador of Croatia to Kosovo, H.E. Ms Marija Kapitanovic, at the NATO KFOR Headquarters.

The overall security situation in Kosovo and the migration flow in the Balkans were the main topics discussed.

The meeting provided an opportunity for General Miglietta to remark the effectiveness of the Croatian contribution in ensuring a safe and secure environment and the freedom of movement in Kosovo according to UN resolution 1244. Currently Croatian Armed Forces service-members are mainly deployed in Camp Bondsteel with Helicopter assets. Other Croatian soldiers are part of KFOR HQ Staff in Camp "Film City”.

Additionally, Ambassador Kapitanovic confirmed that Croatia will continue to support NATO mission, emphasizing the important role of KFOR in maintaining the stability in the Balkan region.

In the afternoon, General Miglietta had the occasion to meet the Ambassador of Italy to Kosovo, H.E. Andreas Ferrarese.
