PRISTINA, Kosovo. Today, Kosovo Force Commander, Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, held a series of farewell meetings with the International Community Stakeholders.
In their respective Offices and HQs General Miglietta, as part of the final engagements of his thirteen months mandate in Kosovo, met with the Head of EU Office and EU Special Representative in Kosovo, Mr. Samuel Zbogar, Acting Head of EULEX Kosovo, Mr. Bernd Thran, Head of OSCE Mission in Kosovo, H.E. Jean-Claude Schlumberger, and the Special Representative of the Secretary General and Head of UNMIK, H.E. Mr Zahir Tanin.
All of these high ranking Officials expressed their appreciation for the fruitful and very close cooperation with KFOR in meeting the mutual challenges, in the past thirteen months. They agreed that ongoing mutual assistance and cooperation continue on an ongoing basis in maintaining a peaceful and positive atmosphere.
It was noted in particular that KFOR always acted impartially within Kosovo in maintaining a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement, for all the people of Kosovo.
Key Stakeholders representing the International Community, in Kosovo, are regular visitors to KFOR whereby they are afforded detailed briefs of the current geopolitical and security situation in the region. These meetings were highly beneficial in forging relationships with the International representatives playing a vital and ongoing role in helping sustain and maintain peace and stability.
