ITALIAN JOINT OPERATIONS HEADQUARTERS COMMANDER VISITS KFOR


PRISTINA, Kosovo. KFOR Commander Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta received today the Italian Joint Operations Headquarters Commander, Lieutenant General Marco Bertolini in KFOR Headquarters in Pristina.

Lieutenant General Bertolini visited the Italian soldiers deployed in Kosovo, as part of a series of visits, which the General performs regularly in major theaters of operation where Italian Armed Forces are deployed.

The high ranking Officers discussed the latest development in the security and operational situation in Kosovo, as well as the in the western Balkans.

General Bertolini expressed his appreciation for KFOR’s contribution to security and stability in the region and expressed words of gratitude for the professionalism and dedication, displayed by the Italian soldiers, in the accomplishment of their tasks.

The Italian contribution to KFOR began in June 1999 and, currently, around 570 Italian service members are deployed across Kosovo. Italy is the lead nation of the Joint Regional Detachment Centre (JRD-C), Multinational Specialized Unit (MSU) based in Pristina, and also leads Multinational Battle Group West in Pec.
