HEADQUARTERS SUPPORT GROUP CHANGE OF COMMAND


Pristina, 21 October 2016. KFOR Commander, Major General Giovanni Fungo, presided over the change of command ceremony, to mark the handover within The Headquarters Support Group (HSG) of KFOR HQ.

The ceremony was held in Camp Film City, in Pristina between the outgoing HSG Commander, Colonel Tony Cudmore and his designated successor Colonel Brian Monahan.

After a year’ service as the commander of the HSG and of a number of Irish Contingents (12 th , 13 th and 14 th IRCON), Colonel Cudmore relinquished command. During the ceremony, Brigadier General Christian Riener, DCOM KFOR emphasized the professionalism and the commitment of Irish soldiers, as members of HQ Staff, in endeavouring to ensure KFOR mandate.

Irish troops have been serving in KFOR since its inception in 1999. The current Irish contingent is composed of twelve members (five Officers and seven NCOs) in various appointments within KFOR. He thanked Colonel Cudmore for his comradeship and professionalism, especially in view of the very diverse and often challenging portfolio as HSG Commander.
