COMMANDER ALLIED JOINT FORCE COMMAND NAPLES MET COMKFOR IN PRISTINA.

Pristina, 13 October 2016
US Admiral Michelle J. HOWARD, Commander Allied Joint Force Command NAPLES, visited the Headquarters of KFOR at Camp Film City in Pristina, where she was greeted by COMKFOR, General Major Giovanni Fungo. COMKFOR and key staff briefed Admiral HOWARD on the latest security developments and the geopolitical situation in KOSOVO.

Admiral Howard was also briefed on the successful participation of the KFOR Tactical Reserve Manoeuvre Battalion (KTM) as part of Exercise Quick Response 2016 that was undertaken in Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) earlier this month; demonstrating the ability of the KTM in an ‘Over the Horizon Force,’ role, capable of rapid deployment as a Tactical Reserve within the Region, as and when required.

Admiral HOWARD had the opportunity to meet with several members of the KFOR contingent during her visit and remarked on the ongoing importance of KFORs role within the region, whereby KFOR continues to provide a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all. Admiral HOWARD and COMKFOR also had the opportunity of having a cordial meeting with Father Sava Janijc at Visoki Monastery in Decan Monastery, where they were warmly greeted and had the opportunity of a tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
