COMKFOR VISITED PODUJEVO

Pristina, 7 th November 2016. Today COMKFOR, Major General Giovanni Fungo met the Mayor, Agim Veliu, KP Commander, Bekim Bislimi and other representatives in Podujevo’s town hall. They discussed the current situation in Kosovo with specific focus on the Podujevo’s territory.

The Mayor expressed to COMKFOR his appreciation and gratitude for the impartial and effective posture of KFOR in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all the people in Kosovo. In his speech Mayor Veliu also acknowledged the accomplishments, activities and the investments made in building the infrastructure and economic development of the municipality of Podujevo.

COMKFOR specified KFOR’s commitment to continue working together with the local authorities and communities.

Earlier in the day COMKFOR, visited Gate 3 in Merdare, where he spoke equally with Serbian and Kosovo Border Police officers working on both sides of the ABL. The visit shows that KFOR is playing an important role in demonstrating impartiality towards all people of Kosovo and it will continue to ensure freedom of movement in order to improve the process of stabilization.
