COMKFOR MET THE NATO DEPUTY ASSISTANT SECRETARY GENERAL FOR OPERATIONS


October 06, 2016. KFOR Commander, Major Giovanni Fungo, met today the NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Operations, H.E. Mr John Manza at Camp "Film City” NATO KFOR Headquarters in Pristina/Prishtina.

H.E. John Manza and COMKFOR talked about the overall security situation in Kosovo and the importance of the KFOR role in maintaining a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement throughout Kosovo under the United Nations Security Council resolutions 1244.

Later, they visited the Visoki Monastery in Decan where they had a meeting with Father Sava Janijc and discussed the current situation with a specific focus on the western part of the region. Father Sava stressed that the presence of KFOR is necessary for the stabilization of the country and he added that it is a part of the monastery’s history.

KFOR, in close coordination with Kosovo Police and EULEX, is committed to ensure the security of Decan Monastery in accordance with its mandate and in an impartial manner.
