COMKFOR MET THE AUSTRIAN FEDERAL MINISTER OF DEFENCE AND SPORTS AND THE AUSTRIAN CHIEF OF DEFENCE

Pristina, 21 st December 2016. Today, at Camp "Film City” NATO KFOR Headquarters in Pristina, KFOR Commander, Major General Giovanni Fungo, met the Austrian Federal Minister of Defence and Sports, Magister Hans Peter DOSKOZIL, accompanied by General Othmar COMMENDA, the Austrian Chief of Defence.

The overall security situation in Kosovo was the main topic discussed during the meeting.
The Austrian Federal Minister of Defence confirmed that Austria will continue to support KFOR’s mission in maintaining a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement throughout Kosovo.

General Fungo expressed his appreciation for the professionalism of the Austrian contingent. Austria contributes with approximately 500 soldiers who are mainly deployed in Peja, as part of the Multinational Battle Group West, in Prizren, as well as the part of KFOR HQ staff and the Joint Logistic Support Group.
