COM KFOR MEETS GERMAN CHIEF OF MEDICAL STAFF


PRISTINA, Kosovo. Today, Kosovo Force Commander, Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, met the Chief of German Medical Staff, Lieutenant General Michael Tempel, at KFOR Headquarters.

The meeting was an occasion to talk about the overall situation in Kosovo, focusing on KFOR’s medical detachment supporting KFOR’s mission. The current KFOR medical structure consists of a Role 1, in Pristina, at Camp Film City. It focuses on the provision of primary health care, specialized first aid, triage, resuscitation and stabilization. KFOR also has a medical Role 3, in Prizren, in the South of the region, for providing a hospital response capability and secondary health care at theatre level. Role 3 hospitals are capable of conducting specialized surgery, care and providing additional medical support.

General Miglietta praised the professionalism of the KFOR Medical branch, led by Germany. He also expressed his appreciation for the commitment of the German contingent deployed across Kosovo as part of Multinational Battle Group East (MNBG-E), the Medical Task Force in Prizren and as members of KFOR HQ.
