COM KFOR FAREWELL MEETING WITH DEPUTY MINISTER AND THE COMMANDER OF KSF

PRISTINA, Kosovo. On the occasion of the forthcoming Kosovo Force Change of Command ceremony, Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta had a farewell meeting today with the Deputy Minister of Kosovo Security Force, Mr. Fadil Haxhi Gashi and the Kosovo Security Force Commander, Lieutenant General Rrahman Rama.

During the meeting, they agreed on the importance of KFOR’s role acting impartially as third security responder, in maintaining a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement, for all the people of the region.

Deputy Minister Gashi expressed his gratitude to General Miglietta for the dedication of KFOR in the service of stability in Kosovo.

COM KFOR noted that cooperation between KFOR and the KSF has been excellent and highlighted their increased capability and professionalism in dealing with emergency relief type operations and also how they fulfilled this role as part of the last "Silver Sabre” exercise, conducted in June 2016. On that occasion, KSF were exercised in their capacity to handle civil protection situations in conjunction with Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Search and Rescue teams in close coordination with Multinational Battle Group-East.

"These activities allowed the KSF to enhance their capacity in fulfilling their specific tasks. The KSF contribution was noteworthy for the high degree of professionalism displayed” concluded General Miglietta at the end of the meeting.
