CARABINIERI DEPUTY COMMANDER VISITS KFOR


PRISTINA, Kosovo. Today, KFOR Commander Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta welcomed the Carabinieri Deputy Commander, Lieutenant General Antonio Ricciardi, at KFOR Headquarters in Pristina.

The high ranking Officers discussed the overall situation in Kosovo focusing on the North where Carabinieri are deployed mainly in Mitrovica performing the guard to the Austerlitz Bridge, over the Ibar River.

General Miglietta emphasized the role of KFOR, as the third responder, supporting Kosovo Police and EULEX, in maintaining a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement in the area of operations.

General Ricciardi had the opportunity to visit the Multinational Specialized Unit (MSU) based in Pristina.

The Multinational Specialized Unit is an Italian police force with military status and KFOR Tactical Reserve, consisting of around 150 Carabinieri.
