1st EDITION OF THE “RUN4KOSOVO”, CHARITY RUN ORGANIZED BY THE MNBG-W


PEJA/PEC, Kosovo. Around 500 military and civilian subscriptions for the "Run4Kosovo” race, organized in Peja/Pec by the Multinational Battle Group – West, in cooperation with the staff of the Municipality.

Representatives from Kosovo Force, Kosovo Security Force, International Community and local population attended the non-competitive five kilometers race through the city.

The purpose of the event was to raise funds for local charity projects and additionally to promote sport activities, the concept of a healthy lifestyle and interethnic integration among Kosovo people.

David Ritharic, from MNBG-W Contingent, was the first overall male athlete with an impressive final time of 15’ and 32’’; while SCHWEIZER Jeannine, from the JRD-N Contingent, was the first female athlete with an equally impressive final time of 19’ and 39’’.

KFOR Commander, Major General Luigi Guglielmo Miglietta, MNBG-W Commander, Colonel Salvatore Alessandro SARCIÀ, KFOR Command Sargent Major, Amedeo Russo, and Mayor of Peja/Pec, Mr. Gazmend Muhaxheri all had the pleasure of presenting the prizes to the winning athletes at the end of the race.

General Miglietta used the opportunity to discuss with Mayor Muhaxheri the current security situation in Kosovo with specific focus on the western part of the region.

Mayor Muhaxheri expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the impartial and effective posture of KFOR in maintaining a safe and secure environment and associated freedom of movement for all the people of Kosovo.
