JFC NAPLES COMMANDER MEETS WITH KOSOVO PRESIDENT, DISCUSSES KFOR MISSION


PRISTINA, Kosovo. Allied Joint Force Command Naples Commander, U.S. Navy Admiral Mark Ferguson met with the Kosovo President, Hashim Thaci, to discuss the continuing role of NATO in Kosovo, April 28, 2016.

Admiral Ferguson additionally met with the Minister of the Kosovo Security Forces, Haki Demolli and the Kosovo Force (KFOR) Commander, Italian Army Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta. The JFC commander discussed ongoing KFOR actions, as well as safety, security and stabilisation efforts in Kosovo with the president and key leaders.

"In my time as the JFC Naples commander, the professionalism and dedication of Kosovo Force personnel and their Kosovo counterparts has contributed to a highly successful operation,” said Admiral Ferguson. "This ongoing operation will have a lasting impact on the security and the overall environment in Kosovo."

Approximately 4,600 troops from the NATO-led KFOR, provided by 31 countries work toward maintaining a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all citizens and communities in Kosovo.
