GENERAL MIGLIETTA FAREWELL VISIT TO KFOR UNITS

PRISTINA, Kosovo. Kosovo Force Commander, Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, held a series of farewell visits to KFOR Units, based throughout Kosovo and who continue to play a key role in maintaining a peaceful and positive atmosphere. In the past thirteen months KFOR was focused on maintaining its overall capabilities and capacities, including a robust and effective tactical reserve, while adapting its force structure through a flexible force posture and well balanced mix of units, kinetic and non-kinetic, tasked to conduct fixed and dynamic activities on a daily basis. General Miglietta, in his speech, remarked on the continuing high professionalism of KFOR troops. "Each and every of you contributed to progress through the mission’s goal with determination”, he said, "because of you and your endeavours, Kosovo and Balkan region is a safer place to live”. "I want to give you the absolutely justified merit, because its thanks to your daily effort that KFOR has been able to maintain an ongoing stable scene and allowing positive ongoing changes to happen, by shaping the operational environment”, KFOR Commander concluded. KFOR mission is predominantly carried out by the two Multinational Battle Groups, East and West, the Multinational Specialized Unit and the Tactical Reserve Manoeuvre Battalion. These Units ensure that the safe and secure environment is maintained and that any tensions are quickly monitored and assessed. This comprehensive approach, using the more conventional muscle of the military, is combined with the softer non-kinetic aspects of the three Joint Regional Detachments, deployed through the region, supporting KFOR’ situational awareness.
