TOP LEADERS OF PORTUGUESE DEFENCE VISIT TO KFOR HEADQUARTERS

Pristina, Kosovo. KFOR Commander, Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta received today the Portuguese Minister of Defence, Jose Alberto Azeredo Lopes and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, General Artur Neves Pina Monteiro, at NATO KFOR Headquarters.

The overall security situation in Kosovo and the excellent relations between Kosovo Force and Portugal were the main topic discussed during the meeting.

General Miglietta expressed his appreciation for the professionalism of the Portuguese contingent and for the important role they play in KFOR HQ and in KFOR’s Tactical Manoeuvre Battalion (KTM). Minister Lopes confirmed that Portugal will continue to support KFOR’s mission. He also emphasized the importance of the role of KFOR in maintaining a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement throughout Kosovo under the United Nations Security Council resolution 1244.
