PRESIDENT JAHJAGA VISITS KFOR HEADQUARTERS
Today, KFOR Commander, Major General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, received the President of Kosovo Madame Atifete Jahjaga at Camp "Film City" NATO KFOR Headquarters in Pristina/Prishtinë.
After being welcomed by KFOR honor guard, the President and KFOR Commander had a meeting during which they discussed on the latest developments concerning security and the socio-economic situation in Kosovo. The President was also briefed on the most relevant ongoing KFOR activities.
During their meeting Madame Jahjaga and General Figliuolo agreed on the importance of a comprehensive approach towards normalisation which involves International Community representatives through dialogue and cooperation.
President Jahjaga emphasized the important role that KFOR plays in guaranteeing and maintaining the safe and secure environment in the whole territory of Kosovo and in establishing the ties between communities.
"Kosovo has achieved building the democratic and inclusive society and it is promoting peace and stability across the region and beyond" - President Jahjaga said.
"Kosovo today is a vibrant democracy and it is building good neighbor relations, including the engagement in the process of normalization with Serbia. We remain committed to the dialogue and to the implementation of the agreement reached in Brussels that facilitates the life of people, relaxes the relations between two countries and bring them closer to the Euro-Atlantic integration", concluded President Jahjaga.
"The stabilization process is on its positive trajectory – General Figliuolo said – and for this reason KFOR will remain fully committed and vigilant until the full normalization of the relationship between Belgrade and Pristina will be irreversible".
The meeting was an opportunity to remark again the strong and good collaboration existing between KFOR and the Institutions in Kosovo. General Figliuolo and Madame Jahjaga agree that this collaboration will pursue also in the future being this, one of the most appreciated by Kosovo people.
