MSU COMMANDER TRANSFER OF AUTHORITY


Pristina, Kosovo. KFOR Commander, General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, marked today the transfer of authority from the outgoing Multinational Specialized Unit (MSU) Commander Colonel Francesco Maria Chiaravalloti and the incoming Colonel Paolo Coletta.

Lieutenant General Tullio del Sette, Italian Carabinieri Corps commander, the Italian Ambassador to Kosovo, H.E. Andreas Ferrarese, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, Mr Skender Hyseni, the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) Minister, Mr Haki Demolli, the UNMIK Head of Mission, H.E. Zahir Tanin, representatives of the International Organizations (EULEX and OSCE) as well as some Kosovar parliament members attended the ceremony at the MSU base.

All authorities in their speech emphasized the professionalism of the MSU performed, since 1999, with impartiality, dedication and fully commitment.

During the ceremony a fully equipped ambulance was donated to the General Directorate of the Kosovo Police.

The Multinational Specialized Unit, an Italian police force with military status and KFOR Tactical Reserve, consists of around 150 Carabinieri deployed mainly in Mitrovica, performing the guard to the Austerlitz bridge, over the Ibar river.
