MAJOR GENERAL FIGLIUOLO MET WITH H.E. MICHAEL D. KIRBY
13th March 2015 – Today, KFOR Commander, Major General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, had a meeting with the US Ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Michael D. Kirby, at Camp "Film City" NATO KFOR Headquarters in Pristina/Prishtinë.
During his visit to KFOR Headquarters, H.E. Michael D. Kirby discussed with General Figliuolo many topics related to the latest developments of security and the socio-economic situation in Kosovo. H.E. Kirby remarked on the crucial role played by KFOR in impartially ensuring a security environment in Kosovo for the benefit of all Kosovo people.
He also emphasized the high regard that the Serbian Authorities have for KFOR, considering it to be the main stability element in Kosovo, thus improving the overall security of the Balkan Area. The meeting in KFOR Headquarters was also attended by the US Ambassador to Kosovo H.E. Tracey Ann Jacobson.
They also focused on the positive progress reached regarding the cooperation and collaboration between KFOR and the other security stockholders of the area. KFOR Commander took the opportunity to express his appreciation for the contribution and support of the USA, highlighting the professionalism and commitment of US service members since 1999 as part of the KFOR mission.
Currently the US contingent consists of about 700 soldiers, having the lead of the Multinational Battle Group East, based in "Camp Bondsteel", and other US troops are part of the KFOR HQ Staff in Camp "Film City".
