Today, KFOR Commander, Major General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, presided over the change of command ceremony in Slim Lines Camp, in Pristina/Prishtinë, to mark the handover of command within KFOR Tactical Manoeuvre Battalion between Lieutenant Colonel Jose’ Tavares Das Neves and the incoming Lieutenant Colonel Jorge Ferreira.
Attending the ceremony was Major General Carlos Santos representing the Portuguese General Chief of HQ Armed Forces and many military authorities representing KFOR contributing nations.
During his speech, COM KFOR remarked on outstanding professionalism and the high level of performance showed by KTM Portuguese by saying: "The soldiers of the KTM have always been well prepared and always ready to respond wherever and whenever needed. I remember when the tension was higher and you gave me the certainty that whatever might happen KFOR would be ready to intervene”.
KFOR Tactical Manoeuvre Battalion is a unit composed of Portuguese and Hungarian soldiers, acting as KFOR Tactical Reserve, always ready to be deployed throughout all Kosovo.
