KFOR TROOPS RUN THE PRISTINA INTERNATIONAL HALF MARATHON


Pristina/Prishtinë, Kosovo. Under the motto "Run for peace and tolerance”, almost one hundred KFOR runners took part in the 15th edition of Pristina International Half Marathon that was hosted in Pristina city center. KFOR runners came from thirteen different Countries: Austria, Finland, Greece, Italy, Hungary, Ireland, Luxemburg, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden, Swiss and the USA.

Three male KFOR soldiers have been placed in the top forty as a demonstration that physical training has a central role in military life, the wide number of military participants well represent how KFOR is close to Kosovo people daily. KFOR medical units also provided medical support alongside the half marathon circuit.

Pristina's annual half marathon is considered one of the biggest events in the Kosovo sporting calendar and could be considered a demonstration of how Kosovo is building a positive interethnic relationship through sport and how it is strengthening dialogue among different people. A wheel chair race and a five kilometers race were included in the event in addition to the half marathon.
