KFOR SUMMER FESTIVAL AT CAMP FILM CITY IN PRISTINA/PRISHTINE


The KFOR Summer Festival was hosted yesterday in Camp Film City. The initiative, entirely organized by KFOR troops, is a yearly event which promotes fun, goodwill, culture and a strong interaction between KFOR military personnel and civilian staff/workers and their families.

KFOR Headquarters was opened to children and families of KFOR local workers and international civilian staff to share fun and memorable moments with military personnel. The occasion recognizes the effort and work of local KFOR employees and staff members in support of NATO.

The Summer Festival was organized through NATO Moral and Welfare Activities (MWA) and KFOR Headquarters Support Group (HSG). It involved several nations such as Austria, Canada, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Switzerland and USA.

Each national military contingent organised a stand where guests got the experience of cultural events and food from the presenting nations. KFOR also included children’s activity area with games and entertainment such as face painting, bouncing castle, magician and juggler, novelty games, hockey, bowling, Sack race. A barbecue was also provided during the event.

The most attractive event was when the jump of the Hungarian Parachute Team, from a NATO helicopter, with the NATO flag. Once landed, they presented the flag to KFOR Commander, Major General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo.
