KFOR COMMANDER WELCOMES US CHIEF OF THE NATIONAL GUARD BUREAU


Pristina, Kosovo. KFOR Commander, Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta welcomed today General Frank J. Grass, US Chief of the National Guard Bureau.

During the meeting at Camp "Film City”, NATO KFOR Headquarters, the two Commanders discussed the overall situation in Kosovo, focusing mainly on the current security and political issues. They also talked about the current challenges of foreign fighters and the migration flow in the Balkans region.

"ISIS is considered as a threat to the entire world. We have got to remain united and work on this issue”, General Grass pointed out and "the exchange of information is the basic condition required to face this phenomenon”.

General Miglietta confirmed that "KFOR will continue to preserve a safe and secure environment and guarantee freedom of movement for all people in Kosovo, working in close coordination with the local and International Community”, he concluded "and I know, KFOR troops will do this firmly, carefully and impartially for the success of Kosovo”.

KFOR is committed to providing the necessary conditions for the normalization of relations and stabilization in the Balkan region.

General Miglietta used this opportunity to express his appreciation for the important role, the professionalism and the outstanding contribution of US service members in KFOR, including the elements of the National Guard. The US is the biggest contingent in KFOR and is also the lead Nation of Multinational Battle Group East.
