JOINT FORCE COMMAND (JFC) NAPLES VISITS KFOR


Pristina, Kosovo. Kosovo Force Commander, Major General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, welcomed the U.S. Admiral Mark E. Ferguson III, Commander JFC Naples, to the NATO KFOR Headquarters in Pristina/Prishtinë.

The visit of JFC Naples Commander was mainly focused to analyze the last developments of the security situation and the current socio-economic situation in Kosovo. During the operational briefing attended by Admiral Ferguson, it was also highlighted the effective role of KFOR in maintaining a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement, which allows for the development of better social and economic conditions.

On Friday, escorted by COMKFOR, JFC Naples Commander flew to western Kosovo to conducts operational visits to the Multinational Battle Group West and to the "Visoki Decani” Monastery where he met the Abbot Father Sava Janjic. Admiral Ferguson took the opportunity to visit also the "Bailey” bridge in the vicinity of the Monastery, recently inaugurated by KFOR, symbol of cooperation among KFOR, IiK and Serbian Orthodox Church representatives.

During his visit in Kosovo, Admiral Ferguson also met with Ambassadors of the Quint Countries, France, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom and United States and the UNMIK Special Representative for the Secretary General.
