JFC - NAPLES COMMANDER OVERALL VISIT IN KOSOVO

Joint Force Command – Naples Commander, U.S. Navy Admiral Mark E. Ferguson III, paid KFOR a visit, in Kosovo.

Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, KFOR Commander, welcomed Admiral Ferguson and both flew to the KFOR military base in Prizren, in the southern part of Kosovo.

After a short walking tour downtown Prizren, JFC-N commander received a comprehensive briefing by the Joint Regional Detachment - South Commander on the latest developments of the current security and political situation, in Camp Prizren.

Later, Admiral Ferguson and General Miglietta met with the Minister of Public Administration of Kosovo, Mr Mahir Yagcilar, with whom they talked about the current developments in Kosovo, with a particular emphasis on the Turkish community, which Minister Yagcilar represents. The latter used the opportunity to express his gratitude to NATO, especially to the Austrian, German and Turkish contingents that operate within KFOR. On the other hand, Admiral Ferguson thanked Minister Yagcilar for the meeting and emphasized that KFOR will continue to operate within its mandate ensuring a safe and secure environment (SASE) and freedom of movement (FoM).

JFC-N Commander visited also the military field hospital highlighting the daily job performed by medical personnel.

In the evening, during the business dinner at Camp Film City, Admiral Ferguson had the opportunity to meet the "Quint Ambassadors” of France, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom and United States.

"I am very confident that all of our men and women in KFOR are fully committed to continuing the progress of goals reached so far”, Admiral Ferguson said.

General Miglietta thanked Admiral Ferguson for his constant presence and closeness to the Kosovo Force troops.
