ITALIAN JOINT OPERATIONS HEADQUARTERS COMMANDER VISITS KFOR
Pristina, Kosovo. KFOR Commander Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta met today the Italian Joint Operations Headquarters Commander, Lieutenant General Marco Bertolini in KFOR Headquarters in Pristina.
The Italian Generals discussed the latest development in the security and political situation in Kosovo as well as the in the western Balkans.
General Bertolini expressed his appreciation for KFOR contribution to security and stability in the region, Major General Miglietta underlined the positive and close cooperation with KP, EULEX, and with all the other international and local organizations, in order to maintain a Safe and Secure Environment and Freedom of Movement throughout Kosovo.
COM KFOR underlined the importance of the support of the Italian Armed Forces to KFOR and thanked Lieutenant General Bertolini for the professionalism of Italian soldiers.
Italy contributes to KFOR with around 550 soldiers, has the lead of the Joint Regional Detachment Centre (JRD-C), based in Pristina, and of Multinational Battle Group West in Belo Polje.
Before completing his visit to KFOR the Joint Operations Headquarters Commander visited Camp "Villaggio Italia" and the Multinational Specialized Unit base to thank Italian soldiers for their commitment and their contribution to the success of the mission.
