EU COMMISSIONER VISITS TO KOSOVO

Pristina, Kosovo. KFOR Commander, Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, welcomed today the EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Mr Johannes HAHN, to Camp "Film City” NATO KFOR Headquarters in Pristina.

General Miglietta and Mr HAHN flew to KFOR’s military base in Peja/Pec in the western part of Kosovo. COM KFOR presented an overall security assessment of the region. COM KFOR stressed the importance of the results of EU led Pristina-Belgrade dialogue and the challenges of its implementation. He commended the signature of the SAA.

Finally he mentioned the important role of the EU presence in Kosovo.

Mr HAHN emphasized the important role that KFOR play in maintaining stability in Kosovo and they discussed the security challenges in the region.

In Mitrovica North, General Miglietta met with the Director of Municipal Administration of Mitrovica North, Mrs. Adrijana Hodzic. They discussed security and the prospects of improving living conditions in the north of Mitrovica.

General Miglietta emphasised that KFOR is fully committed to promoting a peaceful and tolerant environment in Mitrovica North.

COM KFOR highlighted the excellent cooperation with the EU Office and he thanked Mr HAHN for his visit.
