COMKFOR HIGH LEVEL TALKS WITH THE SERBIAN ARMED FORCES CHIEF
Pristina, Kosovo. This morning KFOR Commander, General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, met with the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces (SAF), General Ljubisa Dikovic, in Nis (Serbia).
The main topics emphasized during the meeting were the increase of security conditions throughout Kosovo and the positive trend of the KFOR activities, especially in the Northern Kosovo: no significant incidents, events or violations have jeopardized recently the security and freedom of movement. The discussion has also concerned the current problem of migrants' flow throughout the Balkan area and the necessity to reach a comprehensive, humanitarian and political solution thanks to the involvement of all the international stakeholders.
Both the high-ranking Generals agreed that cooperation and mutual activities, carried out by synchronized KFOR/SAF patrols along the Administrative Boundary Line, contribute to maintain a peaceful and positive atmosphere.
KFOR continues to fully accomplish its tasks, according to the NATO mandate, fostering all the activities for the implementation of the stabilization process in Kosovo.
It is the first time that General Miglietta, since being appointed as KFOR Commander, has met General Dikovic and this meeting is part of the High Level Talks agenda aimed to increase the dialogue and mutual military understanding.
In this regard, KFOR Commander periodically meets the Chiefs of Defence of the countries bordering the KFOR Area of Responsibility.
General Miglietta and General Dikovic expressed their satisfaction with their fruitful and meaningful discussions.
